Summary:

Ten years and many boyfriends later, Cassidy Winters finally returns to the ancestral home of his late grandmother, Sadie Hart, despite the best efforts of his father to prevent it. Cassidy’s plans of a quiet, seaside ceremony to wish a final farewell to Sadie quickly unravel. Interruptions run roughshod, beginning with Neil, who walks out of the ocean and straight into Cassidy’s bed. The dominos topple one by one when the little dog he rescues from the hounds of hell brings him to Ben, the hunky vet who rescues Cassidy right back. News of his arrival spreads faster than Cassidy’s legs, bringing his boyhood friend and first love Nate Sommers to his doorstep — leaving Cassidy spiraling into a multi-layered love snafu. As if the island wasn’t getting crowded enough for Cassidy’s good taste and bad decisions, best friends Ollie and Spencer arrive in time to witness the uninvited return of Cassidy’s most recent ex, Teddy, who’s refusing to stay dumped.

Fists fly and all hell breaks loose amid mojitos and martinis while Cassidy finds himself planning a huge party to celebrate Sadie’s life. Accusations are aimed as arguments and libidos boil over, but even through the chaos Cassidy knows exactly who he wants. While he’s certainly willing, he isn’t sure if he’s ready or able for love and life at Pipers Point.

K.B.’s Review:

Wacky, loving characters, snarky humor, and screwball antics perfectly balanced by emotional depth make At Piper’s Point by Ethan Day the best book he has written to date.

Sadie Hart was the anchor of Cassidy Winters’ childhood. Raised by emotionally cold and distant parents, Cassidy spent his summers on Hart’s Island with Sadie, her friend and housekeeper, Natalie, and Natalie’s son, Nate. As teenagers, Nate and Cassidy’s friendship turned passionate, but unfortunately, they grew apart after Cassidy went to college, and Sadie suffered a stroke. A long court battle ensued when Cassidy’s father put Sadie in a nursing home following her stroke and subsequent death. After winning the court battle, Cassidy brings Sadie’s ashes home, and he is confronted by his past at every turn.

Cassidy’s love life is a disaster. All of his relationships begin with the shelf life of the school year. His current and ex lovers crash headlong into one another at Hart’s Island with alarming regularity, and provide many of the numerous tickle the funny bone moments in At Piper’s Points. Cassidy’s interactions with the players in his love life drama are funny, poignant, and fraught with sexual tension as he tries to come to terms with the past so he can move on with his future. The sex scenes are hotter than hot yet light-hearted and playful.

At Piper’s Point is as humorous as Mr. Day’s other novels, but the underlying thread of seriousness brings an added emotional intensity that is absent from his other works. Cassidy’s deep examination of his past is exacerbated by all of the people surrounding him. Ollie and Spencer are friends who are ex-lovers of his. Nate is his childhood friend and ex-lover. Natalie and the town welcome Cassidy back with open arms. And Sadie is foremost in Cassidy’s thoughts. Although she is dead, Sadie is, by far, the most powerful character of the novel. Sadie is captivatingly larger than life, and I found myself reading faster and faster so I could get to her next scene.

Mr. Day’s character development is so phenomenal that I feel like I have made new friends when I finish reading one of his books. The characters have their share of flaws, but they are always three dimensional, likeable, and realistic. And let’s not forget fun loving! As is so often the case when reading one of Mr. Day’s novels, I found myself laughing so hard I wind up crying. Another hallmark of Mr. Day’s novels is the intense and remarkable bond of friendship the characters share, and I think this is one area where At Piper’s Point truly shines.

If you are an Ethan Day fan, you will find At Piper’s Point as amazing and moving as I did. If you are new to Ethan Day, you will be blown away by this talented author and immediately buy his previous works. I am waiting with breathless anticipation for Mr. Day’s next novel!

A Perfect Storm by Lori Foster

A Perfect Storm by Lori Foster
Publisher: Harlequin Romances
Genre: Contemporary Suspense Romance
Length: 305 Pages

Summary:

Spencer Lark already knows too many secrets about Arizona Storm, including the nightmare she survived and her resulting trust issues. But in order to expose a smuggling ring—and continue avenging his own tragic past—the bounty hunter reluctantly agrees to make Arizona a decoy. Yet nothing has equipped him for her hypnotic blend of fragility and bravery, or for the protective instincts she stirs in him.

First Time in PrintArizona wants to reclaim her life, which means acting as bait to lure the enemy into a trap. Sure it’s dangerous, especially with a partner as distractingly appealing as Spencer. But as their plan—and their chemistry—shifts into high gear, Arizona may discover there’s an even greater risk in surrendering her heart to a hero

Deb’s Review:

A Perfect Storm by Lori Foster was a amazing addition to the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. I have waited a long time for Arizona’s story; and I am here to say it was well worth the wait.

A Perfect Storm had intensity to it as all the others, but there was a huge opening, to what made Arizona tick. Arizona is tough as nails in that: she knows how to gather Intel and she has her smarts about her. So when upon meeting Spencer for the first time she was a bit puzzled of the why this man to her was so different from the others.

Spence (LOL)He is so amazing for Arizona; he takes all that has happened in her past and is willing to help her through even her darkest hours in her nightmares. Arizona being a total knock-out is nothing to sneeze at either. After all Spence is an all, American red blooded man.

From chasing down the bad guys to them between the sheets, their chemistry in and out of the bedroom is explosive. The raped dialogue between these two is open and honest, with no hidden agendas.

The supporting characters are from the first three books. I enjoyed the same feel in this book as well as the others in this series that they all are connected, that their not just in the background for looks.

Chris, needs a story because I just adore that man. He was always so on to what everyone’s feelings were, and his tender moments with Arizona, well not so tender, *g* had me sighing as I thought what a wonderful addition he has become to this series.

Here is the laugh moment of the book for me. Spencer, Marla and Arizona scenes, there for a while I truly thought Marla was going to turn out to be some crazed obsessed lover.
The plotline was as brilliantly done as in the other books, with just enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, some off the charts sex*woo baby*, and few special family moments to close this book.

Here is a my question for you, even though I am sure you’re asked this all the time. Is there going to be any more books in this series, Ms. Foster?

I am going to say given I have read this whole series, Lori Foster has made A Perfect Storm my favorite. I will treasure this series.

A Perfect Storm is a hot steamy, suspenseful offering from the popular writing talents of Lori Foster.

Deb’s Review:

A Knight in Cowboy Boots is a fabulously fun, romance that has me craving to read more from Suzie Quint and the McKnight’s. Since this is my first taste, I do think I need some more of those McKnight cowboys.

Zach is no push over as to he does not let Maddie get away with much. I know I would mind getting caught in Zach’s bear trap. *g* he is strong, loveable character from chapter one till the end.

Maddie’s, gumption to push on makes her a very loveable, strong heroine even though her shooting Zach threw me for sure. “LOL” As to them as a couple they make a wonderful team.

Maddie is on the run with her sister’s baby, the father not far behind. So what’s a gal to do but to team up with a roguishly handsome cowboy and see if they can beat the odds?
I truly admire Maddie’s bravery nothing will come between her and the safety of the ones she loves.

If you have not got your first bite of the delicious McKnight’s, then do so. I plan on diving right in. Spurs and all!

Ms. Quint’s writings are like pure honey, they go down so smooth.

My Rating is a 5 Moons

My Review:

Ethan Day’s “As You Are” is a brilliantly done M/M contemporary that will have you laughing, as well as panting. There are some awesome quotes in this book as well, that will give you the chuckles.
I have to ask though, who else wanted to “B” slap Jennie? Show of hands..lol geez, get over it lady. I wished we were able to know what happened when the secrets to ones past is revealed.
Julian and Danny are one of my favorite M/M couples. I wonder if I can have them delivered with a huge red bow?
Aww Heck, Ethan, I found myself chanting Danny not Andy. Don’t mess with my heart now.
With all seriousness this is one M/M for the heart. Waiting to see how and when Julian and Danny would finally come together was worth it.
This is a heart touching fun book that has this reviewer, wanting more of Ethan Day.

Turn it On by Vivian Arend

Turn it On by Vivian ArendTurner Twins:Book 1
Available at Samhain
Rated 5 Moons!

Vivian Arend is as brilliant as her stories. Turn it On is not exception. It’s a story with a lot of heart; along with some amazing sizzling scenes.
Ryan and Max’s story is full of heart, and mystery. Maxine, has some trouble ahead, not with just someone scarying her, but with what Ryan makes her feel. Oh the things Ryan can do with his mouth, would make the strongest of women crumble. Add a crazy family like the Turners and you get one interesting story.
Ryan, is someone that wants much more then he is aware of. I must say the scene’s with Carl and Ryan is heart renching. I like the fact that Ms.Arend gives us the information and background as well. It helps me connect and understand as I read along.
Turn it On is a delightfully sexy read, that I for one will be rereading again. Vivian Arend, writes with a brilliant pen, her stories have so much to give to the readers who read her works.
